Meet the Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging Committee: Kevin Ferry

In the next instalment of our introduction to the Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging committee we speak to Kevin who is working towards all-important change to the gaming and entertainment sector.

Thinking differently

As a Creative Lead at PokerStars, it would be safe to assume Kevin is never short of ideas. Through his work with the DIB Committee, he wants to open up opportunities to the next generation of employees and prove that the sector has equal opportunities for everyone.

While the industry continues to develop every day, Kevin understands the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace, and leans on his past experiences when discussing the changes it can bring.

“When you have a group of diverse people, better work and more forward thinking is delivered. It’s good for business and it makes us more empathic and generally nicer human beings.”

The Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging committee is a prime example for Kevin, who loves hearing the ideas and opinions from his colleagues across the globe. While Zoom has become the new norm for their meetings, he is proud to see such a diverse group work together to pitch and listen to ideas that aid one another in the everyday challenges we face.

“Dad, you wear weird clothes and hats, but I admire you as you fight for women’s rights, you are a true feminist”

There’s nothing like a daughter’s love. In fact, Kevin has three, and while balancing his role at PokerStars with being a solo full-time Dad, there is an important factor behind his contributions to the DIB committee.

One of Kevin’s daughters has recently joined the iGaming industry, following in her father’s footsteps. Kevin wants to ensure that female colleagues receive equal weighting when it comes to opportunities they can expect in their career, and at PokerStars we’re proud of the fact we are an equal rights employer.

We pride ourselves on celebrating, respecting, valuing, and supporting differences. Our aim is to be an organisation truly representative of diversity and always foster an inclusive environment. Actively encouraging applications from everyone, we’re always looking into ways to help develop a better, more inclusive place to work.
