The Role: Business Analyst

We are looking for a Business Analyst to join our GSTP department team in Leeds

Reporting into the Head of Product you will focus on ensuring our policies, processes, standards, systems and services are ISO27001 compliant.

Working with our Engineering, Operations, Security and Compliance and Architecture teams you will play a key role in preparing us for ISO27001 certification.

Identify, design and maintain requirements for the ISO27001 programme.

You’ll be a technical subject matter expert in GSTP products and services, identifying, communicating, and managing goals, constraints, and risks. You’ll build alignment and shared understanding, guiding your squads to build the right thing, and build it right.

Together with the other GSTP business analysts, you will develop and communicate the underlying principles for identifying requirements which are understood and supported by the whole business, and which provide clear, achievable principles and direction for the technology team to follow.

Who we’re looking for

You will be required to collaborate with the Architecture Team to define the scope of the ISO27001 certification, understand business processes, gather business requirements, evaluate concepts, and support early engagement. You will be a key part of the team to help deliver ISO27001 certification.

  • Requirements planning and acceptance criteria development
  • Supporting and challenging Product Mangers when required
  • Building the multiple story and sub-story process under the Epic if required
  • Documenting scope, analysis and outcomes for the ISO27001 certification
  • Backlog refinement and interaction with the development team
  • Work with development teams to ensure that the work committed to is understood and urgent matters are dealt with
  • A clear and constant focus on the iterative loop of communication and feedback between the development team and the business
  • Working with the Architecture team to help design, document and maintain controls for ISO27001
  • Attend compliance Tech Working Groups to develop ISO27001 processes, approaches and solutions which can be shared across the Tribe
  • Presenting to, influencing and working with senior stakeholders in Technology and across the wider business (Directors and Heads of Department) 
  • Working with a variety of stakeholders to develop processes that provide a balance of agility and control 
  • Work with in-house and third-party development teams and external COTS vendors  
  • Highlight, document, and communicate technical processes; Work with the teams to drive down tech debt
  • Work on documentation to aid understanding and alignment
  • Communicate key facts, risks, and assumptions to enable the heads of function to understand and make the right high-level decisions for GSTP’s products and services
  • Assess the impact of upcoming pieces of work on our teams, and architecture; Identify the key decisions
  • Be an active member of our thriving tech community

What experience will be valuable…

  • Previous experience of working in regulated environments such as ISO27001, SOX, PCI and data protection (ideally in the gambling industry, but experience in other regulated industries is helpful), providing compliance documentation and working with the regulators during consultations to help ensure regulation is fit for purpose.  
  • Experience and understanding security controls such as access control, logging and monitoring and encryption for security and compliance, specifically ISO27001.
  • Held previous roles as a business / security / compliance analyst in an agile, constantly changing environment
