The role: Canada Media and Market Development Manager

We are looking for a Canada Media and Market Development Manager to join our MMD team. The position will be based in our Toronto office.

Why we need you:

Our Media and Market Development team, supports the Group’s three main product verticals with proposed local marketing plans, including advising them on local media buying.

We need to be competitive so it’s imperative that we secure access to the most effective and cost-efficient ad spaces. This role is to provide local expertise on the Canada market working with local insights, opportunities, media strategy, buying and market development projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coordination of all Central Marketing activities for the Canada market, including localization, adaptation of the assets and liaise with Compliance, Legal or external parties when necessary.
  • Ensure creatives are approved by the Canadian media and advertising bodies and are timely delivered to the local Canadian agency and the respective media partners.
  • Work on the administration tool to take care of purchase orders, invoices, upload of the contracts within the business deadlines.
  • Lead the day to day operational communication with the Canadian media agency, supervised by the Senior Canada MMD.
  • Ensure campaigns are delivered on budget, time and quality parameters.
  • Monitor performance by campaign and vertical on weekly or daily basis as necessary.
  • Scouting new media and marketing opportunities across all active brands.
  • Execute day to day activities that are necessary to follow up, implement and ensure the quality of all marketing activities in Canada.
  • Lead the coordination and communication between local agencies, external consultants and freelancers with our central departments, PR, Content Marketing, Social Media and Live Event teams.
  • Coordinate marketing activities that require live presence in Canada, supporting the local team where necessary.
  • Coordinate and support local market business development projects.
  • Ensure proper communication is maintained with the Finance, Planning, Administration and Treasury department to ensure smooth invoicing process from suppliers and all third parties.

You will help the MMD Senior Manager to maintain positive relationships with local media agencies and will local suppliers such as advisors, sports teams, poker associations etc., as well as reporting on market analysis including tracking on competitors’ activity, providing our verticals with market insights in terms of target behaviours, language differences, market trends, advertising trends, industry relations etc.  You will also help monitor market and industry developments and monitor localization of products and communications.

Who are we looking for:

A native English Canadian speaker with strong language skills. Canadian French spoken and written fluency is a must. You will proactively look for new marketing and business opportunities, as well as providing actionable feedback to the product verticals on how to improve and adapt products and promotional offerings to be suitable for the Canadian market. 

Previous media and campaign management experience is required. Casino, Sportsbook, Poker and/or e-gaming marketing experience is a plus. You should be a strong team player with the ability to foster good working relationships. You will need to be proficient in preparing reports and competitor analysis. You should be well organised with the ability to multi-task and prioritise various projects with excellent social skills when dealing with third party agencies and media owners. Knowledge of or an interest in online poker, casino and sportsbook is needed.
