The role: We are looking for a Cloud & Network Operations Engineer to join our growing and high-reaching Network Operations team in our Isle of Man Office

This role follows a hybrid approach to working, allowing you to combine working from home with working in our modern offices. These discussions are between you and your manager to find the best pattern for you both! Are you our next star player?

As Cloud & Network Operation Engineer, you will work within the Network Operations team who provision and manage our global data centre footprint, ISP and Corporate network assets, and cloud connectivity. We are specifically looking for someone who can complement and increase the teams existing AWS networking skills with their own. You’ll be involved in the management and configuration of Cisco routers, switching, and Juniper firewalls.

Why we need you

Responsibilities include:

  • Expand the team’s capabilities to integrate with, operate & support cloud deployments.
  • Deployment of new equipment for all customers. Working with remote hands or attending site where necessary.
  • Equipment upgrades and re-provisioning of equipment when required.
  • Proactive system monitoring and integration into current monitoring systems.
  • Future development of current IP platforms across the entire global Infrastructure.
  • Collaborate closely with 3rd party suppliers for hardware/software procurement.
  • Take part in the Network Operations 24/7 on call rota and provide second line response to 24x7call-outs if required.
  • Project work such as new datacentre or office deployments, Firewall upgrades, cloud integration etc
  • Day to day network management of the core ISP and Office networks.

Who we’re looking for

  • Experience within the following areas of AWS:- VPC and VPC peering, Transit Gateway, Virtual Private Gateway, NAT/Internet Gateway, Cloudwatch, AWS security, IAM etc
  • Experience of GIT HUB and Network Automation tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet
  • Experience of coding and configuration with languages such as YAML, Python
  • At least 5 years’ experience working with layer 3 routing protocols such as BGP, MPLS, ISIS OSPD and associated design principles
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of layer 2 technologies and design principles
  • Willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Ability to work in a team to achieve overall goals and share knowledge as well as work under own initiative in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to produce technical documentation
  • Self-motivated with strong organisational skills
  • Understanding of the components present in enterprise networks such as Routers, Firewall, Switches and Application Load Balancing devices.

As the ideal candidate, you will have 

  • Microsoft Azure deployments and management experience.
  • Project Management capabilities.
  • Industry recognised certifications for vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Citrix, AWS
  • Experience of ISP Networking environment including BGP, ISIS, MPLS
