The role: CRM Analyst – Betfair International

We are looking for a CRM Analyst to join our growing Betfair International team in London.

The CRM Analyst will be a key role in the newly formed Betfair International CRM team.  This team has the ambition to be the most dynamic and effective CRM team in the group.  We will build innovative solutions across international geographies, that drive value both for customers and the organisation through outstanding automated communications that bring the brand to life in a way that is personalised to customers’ preferences, life stages and the actions that we want them to take.

Why we need you:

Reporting to the CRM Planning Manager, the CRM Analyst will:

  • Develop our understanding of customer behaviour patterns and to measure the efficiency of our marketing.
  • Lead campaign reporting, validating hypotheses, structuring tests and analysing the results of activity to provide actionable insight to continuously improve our communications.
  • Supporting the Data Delivery Manager, you will provide insight to ensure that our targeting is robust and measurable and carry out any required targeting and audience selections using Adobe.
  • Working with the Planning Manager and the Head of CRM, you will chip into the construction of a long-term customer contact strategy by providing analysis and insight, to ensure that the strategy is based on solid foundations.
  • You will also build relationships with other business functions such as Commercial Analytics and Data Product to ensure that our approach to analytics uses all the latest thinking from across the business.
  • The role also requires that you be abreast of all current thinking from our industry and beyond.
  • You will work closely with the Head of CRM, Planning, Data Deployment, Digital, Product and Data Decisioning, ensuring we can effectively measure our activity and supervise customer behaviour.

Who we’re looking for:

A subject matter expert for our marketing effectiveness and understanding our customers’ behaviour around the globe.

  • Drive meaningful insight from our customer data, contributing to development of both short and longer-term initiatives.
  • Support (or develop) hypotheses from the team in terms of strategic development of contact strategy.
  • Develop and implement a robust approach to test and learn programmes that will see the value of CM internationally being recognised and findings fostered into future programmes.
  • Develop campaign tracking and evaluation methods, owning the creation of a governed taxonomy and ensuring metadata & URLs are structured accurately.
  • Develop & maintain campaign performance dashboards.
  • Forecast commercial impact and make recommendations on how to improve performance and ROI.

Your experience:

  • Validated experience working in an analytics function either agency or client side.
  • Experience in translating strategic requirements into clear and impactful analysis proposals.
  • Knowledge of both marketing and technical database system/campaign management software.
  • Experience in Big Data Analytics landscape (e.g. Spark, Adobe, Hadoop, SAS, SQL, BI).
  • Understanding of digital analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics.
  • Good knowledge of sports, online gaming or gambling (desirable).
  • Experience using an email marketing tool such as Adobe Campaign (desirable).

Your skills:

  • A data-driven attitude with a focus on customer value and a good understanding of statistical methods, including incremental reporting (test vs control).
  • Ability to extract and analyse data from a data warehouse, with the ability to make sense of data from different sources.
  • Strong analytics skills with an ability to engage specialists and non-specialists alike, making clear and sound recommendations on the back of them.
  • Full proficiency using SQL required, with knowledge of Python being desirable.
  • Understanding of digital analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software, Tableau, PowerBI, Looker or other comparable analytical/reporting software.
