The role: Data Programme Manager – Data & Analytics

We are looking for an experienced Programme Manager to join our Data & Analytics function in our Isle of Man office

Are you our next star player?

We are looking for a Programme Manager, or technical project manager ready to step up to the next level, to support our data portfolio and programmes initiatives. Reporting to the Head of Data Product Portfolio you will be responsible for delivering some of our most critical strategic data programmes end-to-end from inception through to business outcomes. You will build alignment with multiple stakeholders from C-suite down to technical teams and ensure goals are achieved and dependencies and risks are managed.

Why we need you:

Data is essential to powering our strategic business objectives over the next several years. We are currently conducting a data strategy review and have several strategic programmes kicking off this year that need experienced professionals to take ownership over alignment with all stakeholders and delivery management and reporting.

It will involve taking a lean approach to programme management by providing a suitable amount of structure and process that is relevant to the complexity of each initiative. Therefore, experience of a range of approaches include agile (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and traditional approaches (MSP, Prince2, PMP etc) would be appropriate frameworks for you to call upon as needed. You will need the judgement to adapt to each programme initiative.

Who are we looking for

  • 5 years programme or project management experience, preferably in a data or technical context
  • Experience of Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid approaches – adapting pragmatically to circumstances
  • Understanding of product management – including product strategy, roadmap planning, and prioritising
  • Some experience working with Analysts and Data Scientists and the potential of Analytics and Data Science to provide strategic capabilities and business outcomes
  • Some experience of working with data teams building data platforms (datalake, data warehouse), real-time event streaming (eg Hadoop, flink, kafka), cloud data platforms (eg AWS, Azure, GCP), data science platforms (eg feature store, model deployment & governance)
  • Enough technical knowledge to engage with data engineers – perhaps gained in a former technical role
  • Comfortable interacting with C-suite, engineers and third-party business partners
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to present data, information and updates in a professional and simplified manner
  • Must be able to multitask and work on multiple programmes/projects at a given time, with excellent ability to manage own priorities & focus
  • High proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Confluence, Jira

The ideal candidate will also have

  • Previous experience in the e-gaming industry, or other high-transaction industries eg finance, telco
  • Formal training in a project, programme or product field
  • Post-graduate qualifications
