The role: DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer in the Leeds office to join our growing and ambitious Internal Software Development team which is distributed across IOM and UK.

Why we need you:

Our portfolio includes web, server and data processing systems as well as cloud solutions; to move our dev ops and supporting infrastructure to the next level.

Therefore we want to hire a dev ops engineer, who will take ownership for these areas; initially to review where we are, resolve issues and standardise approaches; later to research new technologies and methods, and then build/maintain a highly automated setup.

You will proactively manage our DevOps process and tools on an ongoing basis; introduce and maintain best practices and state of the art tools; improve logging and monitoring on application level as well as server and stack level. They ideally would play a key role in building and maintaining the relationship of the development team with IT.

Who are we looking for

• Ambitious and experienced teammate with a very positive demeanour and a ‘can-do’ attitude.
• Willing to take responsibility and drive improvements; keen to research and trial new methods but also happy to take day to day issues off developers as required.
• Experience building / deploying .NET Core based systems
• Experience with build servers and deployment tools (ideally TeamCity, Octopus)
• Windows experience
• Working with SDLC in an audited environment
• Ability to cooperate with various international IT/NetOps/InfoSec/DBA teams

The ideal candidate will also have

• Experience with data base deployments, ideally Microsoft SQL Server
• Knowledge of logging frameworks (e.g. Log4Net / SeriLog / NLog)
• Cloud (ideally Azure) / Hybrid
• Containerisation (Docker / Kubernetes etc.)
• Linux CentOS administration, Linux shell scripting (bash), Powershell scripts for the automation of deployments, general server maintenance tasks and querying ActiveDirectory
• Some Agile / SCRUM experience would be an advantage
