The role: Director of Payments

We are looking for a Director of Payments to join our Operations Risk team in Dublin.

The Director of Payments will be an integral Leadership team member within the Customer Operations department and wider Customer & Product organisation.

The Payments team in particular is responsible for payments strategy and transformation, commercial and business development, external relationship management, payments offering growth and market entry and maintenance, and Operations related to Payments and Payment products.

The Director of Payments specifically will be accountable for the Payments transformation programme of work and delivery of target synergies.

Why we need you

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, direction, and support for the Payments Product Management, Payment Operations and Payments Business Development teams including daily operations, needs assessments, quality assurance, process improvement, productivity, capacity planning, reporting and vendor relationships.
  • Lead and develop a high performing payments team and oversee operational functions to achieve established high-performance goals
  • Responsible for Payments 5-year strategy and 2-year business planning
  • Accountable for Payments transformation synergies
  • Commercial and supplier relationship management in liaison with legal and procurement
  • Liaison to wider Flutter group Payments plans and functions
  • New and existing markets business development and strategic planning
  • Payments product acquisition, retention and rescue (migration)
  • Payments operations; customer escalations, funding, reconciliation, and product configuration
  • Sponsor of all major payments projects, and business owner/stakeholder of project and product delivery
  • Key liaison to PAM and Payments Product Management
  • Budget owner and manager and interface to Finance and Analytics teams on Payments performance
  • Key member of the Customer Operations leadership team, contributing to department wide strategy and being a role model within the organisation.

Who we’re looking for

Essential Skills and Capabilities:

  • Experience at Director level, within a Payments discipline, with a Global outlook
  • Demonstrable strategic and commercial acumen
  • Existing Payments and/or Banking industry relationships
  • Programme and Project Management experience with demonstrable delivery achievements
  • Articulate and confident in interacting with business stakeholders, along with external clients
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage expectations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience of leading and developing a high performing team

The following credentials are a distinct advantage, but not essential for the role:

  • Project management qualifications or formal training
  • Training or Qualifications in Transformation and/or Change Management
  • Experience utilising Lean & Agile methodologies
