The role: We are looking for an Editor for PokerNews to work from Nevada (or other legal US state).
This role follows a remote approach to working, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home or anywhere within the country of employment. Working as a team is what makes us great and spending quality time together is essential for keeping us mission-aligned so you can expect once a quarter to be invited to work from our office and all travel costs will be expended.

Why we need you:
Reporting to the Executive Editor US, you will be responsible for creating relevant and engaging content that captivates millions of poker enthusiasts around the world. As Editor, you will contribute to the overall PokerNews end-to-end content production as a writer and live reporter.
You are up-to-date with both the general interests of the poker world, able to write thought-provoking content and have your finger on the pulse regarding all things poker. You have a general understanding of the US poker landscape and understand the differences between the various US states (such as legality, overall popularity, and popular casinos).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Writing news articles and produce evergreen content
- Deliver state-specific US content
- Contribute to the overall growth of the PokerNews brand in the United States, including traveling to (US) events, such as the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, to work on-site
- Contribute to Live Reporting where needed, in accordance with the line manager and Live Reporting Manager
Your live reporting expectations will concentrate mostly around the big (US) series, primarily the World Series of Poker, where you could be called upon to assist with live reporting services. Your overall work expectation should be roughly 80-85% editorial related, and 15-20% live reporting.
Who we’re looking for:
We’re looking for a talented and enthusiastic writer with a knack for poker. Knowing the poker niche in and out is considered a strong plus. You are proactive when it comes to chasing and writing up news stories and are self-managing. Excellent English writing skills (AP Style) are a necessity. Working knowledge of SEO and/or the ability write on a deeper strategic level are considered a plus.
