General Manager

Role purpose:
The General Manager is responsible for driving the long-term strategic objectives of the Toronto office in line with the overall CTO strategy, working with local and cross-locational leaders to ensure the successful development of the location. You will act as a figurehead for the local team and play a key role in inspiring and challenging them to ensure we keep to a high level of quality both in our work and people.

They will maintain excellent relationships with external partners and develop partnerships with local authorities, government representatives and other similar bodies to develop and maintain a strong and positive image within the local marketplace

Accountabilities:
The General Manager is accountable for the creation and execution of a strategy designed to grow the contribution to the business and ensures the long-term sustainability of the Toronto office.

Engage with senior management from the CTO office and the wider Flutter Group and relevant divisions in broader organisational strategic planning

Responsible for fostering strong working relationships across Flutter locations/divisions

Act as a champion for the Toronto office by promoting innovation and best practice to teams in the rest of the organisation

Lead a multi-disciplinary leadership team drawn from the key functions and divisions operating in the location who can be ambassadors for the wider company culture and values, and be drivers of efficiency and quality.

Work with Finance to establish, manage and optimize budgets for the office.

Work with local HR to create and execute an internal/external employee engagement strategy that continues to build the reputation of Blip as an “employer of choice”

Work with the Communications team to ensure that employees are stayed ahead of all vital company updates (both at a European-level and globally) and act as chief spokesperson for external communications

Work with the Operations team to ensure best in class management of local facilities

Work with senior internal partners across divisions and locations to ensure a coordinated approach to local workforce planning, both from an internal perspective and 3rd party resourcing suppliers

Management of risks with potential impact for the location

Ensure effective communication of group and location strategy, as well as results and local contribution to employees

Work closely with senior management to contribute and support in the rollout of key change management activities at a group level

Analyse and explore market trends; identify new opportunities/threats at a local or national level

Act as a mentor and coach for members of the local leadership team, helping them to form effective relationships with senior management
Oversee key hiring, location specific talent development programs and succession planning for achieving the location strategy

Report key results of the unit to senior management

Experience:
Experience of operating at Senior-level within a dynamic, multi-national, eCommerce organisation
Experience of operations management
Extensive experience of senior partner management, internal and external
Deep knowledge of the Canadian and NA market
