We are looking for a well-rounded Scrum Master to join our Payments team in Bulgaria.

 We are looking for a dedicated Scrum Master to join our team in Bulgaria.  The individual in this role would be responsible for overseeing our software development team and working under the Agile methodology. We are seeking a candidate who has proven leadership skills, the ability to think critically and problem-solve, and a track-record of working in different Agile mythologies.

 The scrum master is the team role responsible for ensuring the team lives Agile values and principles and follows the processes and practices that the team agreed they would use and ensuring a good relationship between the team and product owner as well as others outside the team.

 The Scrum master will ensure that Scrum/Agile/BDD methodologies are properly applied. The Scrum Master will ensure that the various method concepts are acquired and accepted and that roles are correctly distributed and understood by the Scrum team (product owner, developer, QA, etc). As scrum master, you will be responsible for acting as an Agile/BDD coach within the team (product owner included).

 The Scrum master is also the organizer and facilitator of the various methodology “rituals”, identifying and driving continuous improvement throughout team; while at the same time actively participating, collaborating and communicating within the Agile guild solving wider challenge and driving operational excellences.

  • Lead all Scrum related ceremonies, including: daily standup, backlog refinement sessions, sprint retrospectives, and sprint planning ceremonies
  • Guide, coach, empower the team, facilitating discussions, decision making, conflict resolution, and delivery of committed work goals
  • Support the Product Owner maintaining the product strategy/roadmap through story mapping, Behavior Driven Development (BDD), Gherkin Features and other Agile activities
  • Provide leadership in identifying iterative process improvements and methods to streamline adoption of Agile methodologies.
  • Take initiative and act as a leader to foster collaboration and communication between Scrum teams and team members on technical issues, on process improvements, and support solicitation of input and feedback from stakeholders and users after each Sprint.
  • Proactively assessing the team’s Agile maturity and constantly raise the bar to improve the team’s velocity within a sustainable pace of change.
  • Provide manage and track team metrics – Release Burn Down Charts, Sprint Burn Down Charts, etc. and to stakeholders and the team
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, framework users, and program owners, assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
  • Oversee design, QA, flow of work, and release management.

 Who we’re looking for:

  • Guiding the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers.
  • Guiding the team on how to get the most out of self-organization, encouraging and supporting the teams to self-manage their iterations using a servant-leader management style.
  • Guiding the team on self-organising to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks.
  • Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organisation and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organisation.
  • Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.
  • Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.
  • Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.
  • Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
  • Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
  • Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially on grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
  • Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible and leading by example.
  • Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
  • Knowledge of various well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous burndown technologies, various Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.).
  • Awareness and experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games.
  • Experience in applying a wide variety of well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach(example: various BurnDown technologies, many Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.).
  • Flexibility of working hours to work with cross regional teams across the world.
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills.

Your skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Registrations/Certifications: Scrum Master Certification A-CSM, CSP-SM, or PSM II
  • 3+ years’ experience with Agile/SCRUM methodology with JIRA is a plus.
  • Additional experience with large scale integration projects preferred.
  • Flexibility of working hours to work with cross regional teams across the world.
  • Superior Analytical Skills.
  • Eagerness to work in a team and as a team to solve problems but without requiring micromanagement.
  • Eagerness to act as a mentor and lead other developers of less experience.
  • Ability to coordinate with both external and internal teams.
  • Experience with different estimation techniques and engaging daily stand-up and retrospectives ceremonies.
  • Solid communication skills including excellent English language skills, solid writing skills and solid people skills.
