Richmond Hill, Toronto, Canada Poker Not permanent

We are looking for a Junior Poker Analyst with strong poker knowledge to join our busy and dynamic team based in our Richmond Hill (Toronto) office.

Along with your resume, please provide a cover letter outlining your poker playing experience, and explaining your interest in systems analysis and quality assurance.

What will you be doing?

You will be working alongside other Business System Analysts (BSAs) and Quality Assurance Analysts (QAs) in the Poker Delivery Unit, and you will have both responsibilities.

BSA Responsibilities

You will investigate and achieve a deep understanding of existing systems, and settle how new feature requests best fit in. You will then assist with creating final requirements, which will be used by developers to build new and exciting poker features. You will also be planning and coordinating project delivery between business units and technical teams. In short, you will solicit business requirements from product team and other stakeholders, creating and updating business and technical requirements documents, translating high-level product vision into detailed implementation-level specifications.

As you become more familiar with our product and features, you will be leading requirements walkthrough and estimation sessions, to collect development estimates and clarify requirements for developers and QAs.

Quality Assurance Responsibilities

You will be executing test cases across different platforms, including server, desktop Windows/Mac clients, mobile Android/iOS clients, and web clients. You will also verify actual results against expected results and ensure that application logs are free of errors and database tables contain valid data.

You will be identifying missed requirements, requirement gaps, and functional bugs. Documenting and prioritizing these issues and verifying that they are fixed in a timely manner. You will also collaborate with our Production Support team by reproducing issues and investigating server and client logs when needed. You will attend project meetings and providing detailed status reports and updates on your deliverables.

Who are we looking for?

You need to:

  • be enrolled in a post-secondary degree, preferably with a background in computer sciences, mathematics, or any natural sciences degrees (e.g. physics, chemistry).
  • have online poker experience and a strong understanding of many different poker games.
  • have excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate issues and results in a clear, concise, and precise manner, both verbally and in writing. You must be a dedicated and supportive teammate and be willing to help where and when help is needed.
  • have high level of interest in learning about software development process (SDLC), business systems analysis, and project management methodologies.
  • be able to identify potential issues and write and execute appropriate test cases for them.
  • have strong logical and analytical skills and the ability to think clearly and flexibly, as well as the ability to multitask and balance multiple projects and priorities with minimal supervision.
  • be detail-oriented and be able to catch small issues and inconsistencies that others would miss.
  • have some technical background with Windows, Mac, or mobile devices.
  • be curious by nature, passionate about poker, systems analysis, and quality assurance, and be willing to really commit to develop exciting new features and finding defects for our customers.
