The role: Marketing Planning & Projects Executive – Betfair International

We are looking for a Marketing Planner & Projects Executive to join our International Brand Marketing team in London.

Reporting to the Senior Marketing Planner & Projects Manager, you will help support with the go-to-market planning process within Betfair’s International markets.

The International Marketing team are responsible for growing the Betfair brand in our key target regions in Europe and Latin America, and your role will be a vital enabler in scaling our operational capacity to deliver against this ambition. Our growth plans for 2021 are highly aspirational, but increasingly complex due to the range of internal stakeholders, third party agencies, new markets and large budgets involved. As such, we’re looking for someone who is exceptionally well organised and possesses strong stakeholder management skills, to ensure our marketing vision is delivered on time and within a robust planning framework.

Working across Brand, Digital and CRM, you will help support the central coordinating function that brings together a singular cohesive vision of all Marketing verticals. By helping collate a consistent monthly planning and reporting cycle, this will help the wider Marketing team to keep on track with strategic alignment with commercial stakeholders and ensure campaign outcomes are surfaced beyond the Marketing team

Why we need you:

Working with Commercial, Brand, Digital and Marketing Evaluation teams, our Executive will help support the Senior Marketing Planner to ensure external media agencies are briefed on time and to a high standard. Enabling delivery of effective, data-driven strategic media responses. You will support tender processes for new agencies, ensuring Betfair is set up for success with the very best local media agencies in all our International target markets.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Ongoing management of media agencies to ensure Betfair receives an outstanding level of service in all regions. Eg, coordinating Quarterly Business Reviews, sourcing weekly/monthly market insights, agency trackers
  • Work with the Senior Brand Planner & cross functional teams to align & develop detailed campaign plans in different markets simultaneously that are aligned to our business objectives and ensure plans adhere to market marketing regulations
  • Collate the monthly marketing planning and reporting cycle, with inputs from Brand, Digital and CRM teams to play back marketing plans and performance to stakeholders around the business
  • Attend weekly ‘Tribe meetings’ taking clear & concise meeting notes with detailed next steps to playback to the wider Marketing team & track actions
  • Support the Senior Brand Planner to track & report on the planning process through milestone trackers & campaign plans
  • Managing documentation within cross functional teams to make sure project timelines are up to date at all times

Who we’re looking for:

You will have experience in a fast-moving environment working on multiple projects simultaneously. Ideally you have project management experience and commercial acumen, and a will to deliver projects. You also have strong Excel and PowerPoint skills and enjoy working as part of a team, as well as independently.

As the ideal candidate, you will have the following behaviours:

  • Organisational skills & attention to detail: Ability to stay focused on different tasks, and use your time, effectively and efficiently in order to achieve the desired outcome.
  • Planning: Deciding what actually needs to be done, when it needs to be done & planning that process. This involves understanding deadlines & working backwards to map out & prioritise each task along the way.
  • Stakeholder management: comfortable operating at pace to a high standard, despite requiring the involvement of multiple stakeholders across multiple countries to deliver results. Can get things done both through formal channels and informal networks
  • Fast learner: Learns quickly when facing new situations. Experiments to find new solutions. Takes on the challenge of unfamiliar tasks and extracts lessons learned from failures or mistakes
