The role: Principal Front End Engineer

We are looking for a Principal Front End Engineer to join our GSTP team in Sofia!

You will become part of the Global Sports & Trading Platform tribe where you will be developing and maintaining systems that strive to be outstanding. Why we need you

As one of our most highly skilled engineers, you will help define and analyze business requirements and implement solutions to business needs, ensuring their completion by putting together a robust end to end process. You’ll be a champion for technical ownership and operational readiness within the squad and tribe. You can expect to work closely with the Engineering Manager, we want you to hire the best engineers for your team. You will engage with product teams on forward planning and drive team focus on delivery goals and value. We expect you to lead by example on transparent communication, ensuring that business expectations are always set realistically. Our engineers work closely with colleagues in all positions, so a phenomenal level of interpersonal skill is important to us. You’re able to collaborate with other engineers and architects to develop highly scalable systems that handle high volumes of financial and gaming transactions in a high load environment.

Who we’re looking for

You are a senior specialist with a demonstrated ability to develop frontend web applications for high load data heavy websites. You can use features of the web platform to ensure the best possible performance is achieved for customers. You embrace a DevOps approach to build tooling and automation which improve developer experience and speed of delivery.

Your experience:

You are a master of JavaScript, as well as excellent knowledge of several frameworks such as Angular and React. You have experience in working with RESTful APIs and a track record of working with Marionette/Backbone applications. You have a solid grasp of browser support and cross-browser testing/features. You possess extensive experience with crafting large scale web solutions.

Your skills:

You’re experienced in working in an agile environment (Scrum / Kanban). You’ll be someone who is happy to work independently or collaboratively on multiple tasks. You have comprehensive test analysis skills, are proficient in developing and maintaining automated tests and have a good appreciation of what can and can’t be automated. You have proven track record as a senior technical or team lead with minimum 3 years of managing/leading teams. Knowledge of the Gaming industry is a huge advantage. It would be considered a plus if you have experience with working with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).

Your behaviours:

Overall, you are a highly motivated developer who is passionate about writing good code, have outstanding communication skills and are keen to continuously learn and share knowledge with others. You are eager to work on solving problems in a team but with lower supervision. You’re aware of SEO techniques and understand how the choices you make when building products will impact the overall visibility in search engine results pages.
