We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our Engineering team in Leeds.
We’re on an exciting journey; as part of the Flutter group we form a key piece of the world’s largest Betting and Gaming company with brands such as PokerStars, Paddy Power, BetFair and SkyBet. We’re expanding our team as we use our technical and sports betting expertise to deliver the best of breed Sportsbook.

You’re the sort of person to provide technical leadership across multiple teams delivering key parts of our strategy to build and own the industry’s best sports betting and trading platform. You’ll be the one to be self-motivated and willing to contribute at all levels; listening and learning from those around. Why we need you
We are looking for an individual to take a leading role in designing, implementing and operating our products and platforms. Working with our engineering managers in developing staff and evolving our teams through mentoring our engineers with your areas of expertise.
Who we’re looking for
You’ll be the person to take a hands-on approach with a deep and current technical expertise in your area of specialism. Mentoring and encouraging the team to be autonomous in their work whilst having a clear and set direction? That’s definitely what we are after.
You’d have experience of supporting solution architects in crafting technical solutions, be a well-adapted custodian of the software design of our products as we are looking for someone to have a past history of building systems that service as a definitive example for engineers whilst advocating the best engineering practice.
You like to drive team focus on technical delivery goals whilst balancing quality and user value. Taking strategic ownership and being responsible for the technical vision for the team. We believe in providing the best career for everyone; your progression and your teams progression begins on the day we meet.
You’re a technical guru; but you’re also a people person. We are looking for that balance of being a mentor whilst still retaining your technical capabilities and we are also looking for you to be the one to work with different teams across business functions to develop medium and short term technical strategies.
