The role: We are looking for a Regulatory Legal Counsel to join our department team in London.

You will be a lawyer who will be heavily involved in advising on the legal and regulatory issues relating to Flutter’s global business.

Are you our next star player?

You will report to Senior Legal and Regulatory Counsel of Flutter’s International Division.

The successful candidate will show a willingness to not only lead on legal matters but also engage and provide support on regulatory issues with a view to acquiring successful outcomes. The areas of legal work will involve litigious and non-litigious matters and will involve working with external lawyers and government affairs consultancies/ trade associations.

Our sector is fast paced, technology driven and highly regulated. As a result, our International Division’s Legal & Regulatory Affairs team enjoys the challenge of sophisticated, multi-jurisdictional work within a wide range of regulatory frameworks. As a global company that has recently undertaken a major merger, operates worldwide, and has major growth ambitions, there are many opportunities to develop. You will also be part of a team responsible for securing workable regulatory conditions for Flutter’s international business and managing its legal risk profile.

Who we’re looking for?

Candidates shall be able to demonstrate the following:

  • 1-3 years PQE;
  • Experience in regulatory law (e.g. competition/antitrust, financial services, administrative law or others). Experience in these areas can be contentious or non-contentious, as well as from private practice and/or in-house;
  • Experience in dealing with regulators (either in an in-house role or in private practice) in any of the following industries: gambling, telecoms, utilities, transport, media, alcohol, tobacco or others.
  • Experience on working with cross-border issues is advantageous (again, this experience can be either contentious or non-contentious);
  • Interest in gambling law, policy and international perspectives on the industry;
  • Training and post-qualification experience at reputable law firms;
  • A strong and consistent academic record;
  • A strong desire to forge a career as an in-house lawyer and build strong, lasting relationships with internal commercial stakeholders;
  • Foreign languages desirable but not essential.
