The role: We are looking for a Release Test Manager to join our International Sportsbook team in Leeds. You will help test and develop one of the biggest sports betting platforms in the world.

We are expanding our tech team to support the adoption and development of our new sports betting platform within the Flutter International division.
As a Release Test Manager, you will join our newly formed Release and Integration team, responsible for ensuring we have a compliant product that meets the needs of our players, across all channels, web, mobile and desktop client.
This role follows a hybrid approach to working, allowing you to combine working from home with working in our modern offices. These discussions are between you and your manager to find the best pattern for you both! We will kit you out to work from home but know that working as a team is what makes us great and spending quality time together is essential for keeping us mission-aligned.

Why we need you?
As Release Test Manager, you will be responsible for a small group of test engineers (up to 6) of various levels of experience managing the testing of multiple releases. You will report into our Head of Test and QA and work alongside other Test Managers who you will collaborate with on a regular basis.
You will be responsible for supporting the automation first approach for the platform, this will include working with the wider sportsbook platform engineers, designing, building and maintaining tests for our cutting-edge sportsbook platform.
You will have broad experience with multiple technologies and platforms within highly transactional domains. Experience of testing web, native and mobile applications across multiple geolocations and languages is needed for this global project.
The role requires experience of working in an agile IT development model ensuring quality is embedded as early as possible (shift left). As Test Manager, you will have knowledge of all the different facets of test coverage; including unit testing, component, functional, usability, accessibility, performance, capacity, security, integration testing, compatibility, localisation and internationalisation etc.
This role requires excellent organisational skills, planning test phases and scheduling release testing is a large part of the role. Expertise in liaising with partners from different business units with differing priorities would be advantageous.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and scheduling release testing for both internal and external releases and platform migrations
  • Release Test monitoring and reporting
  • Ensuring security and regulatory responsibilities are adhered to
  • Drive the technical direction of testing capabilities in the team
  • Team management, development and mentoring
  • Continuously improve testing through contributing to the Test Community of Practice
  • Ensure alignment of the tribe’s test approach within the team

Who we’re looking for:
We’re looking for an experienced, pragmatic and collaborative Release Test Manager to join our team on the mission to build the best online sports betting product in the world.
You will have an established background in testing, having risen from a hands-on technical tester to become a strong leader. Leading test engineers in an evolving and dynamic environment, ideally in online betting & gaming or similar web/mobile-scale industry where software is always-on, and customer experience is always more than a consideration.

Your experience:

  • Experience of using automation tools and frameworks
  • Experience of managing and reporting on test progress across a programme of releases including the management of any issues and risks
  • Experience of working across multiple teams with complex integrations
  • Experience of collating QA test governance metrics and using this data to drive subsequent improvements to the QA processes
  • Previous line management experience
  • Technical experience and knowledge of various technologies and frameworks
  • Atlassian product set including JIRA and Confluence
