We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Front-End) to join our busy and dynamic GSTP team based in our Leeds office or UK remote (within country).

We’re on an exciting journey; as part of the Flutter group we form a key piece of the world’s largest Betting and Gaming company with brands such as PokerStars, Paddy Power, BetFair and SkyBet. We’re expanding our team as we use our technical and sports betting expertise to deliver a best of breed Sportsbook.

Our tech teams can work remotely within country, occasionally you’ll need to come to the office. Not often, but up to 4-5 times a month and of course, we’ll cover all related expenses. Working as a team is what makes us great and spending quality time together is essential for keeping us mission-aligned.

What you will do

Reporting into a Lead Software Engineer and working under guidance of our Principal Engineers, you will work with your team on the user facing experience, delivering key parts of our strategy to build and own the industry’s best sports betting and trading platform.

How you will do it

  • Our multi-platform web applications are built on top of webpack, TypeScript, React and WebSocket technology 
  • Use features of the web platform to ensure the best possible performance is achieved for customers 
  • Understand what it means to work on a truly global product and the idioms of global users
  • Work with internationalisation technologies to provide content in all our supported languages, currencies and multi branding
  • Support engineers within the team through pairing and mentoring
  • Champions delivery and balances this with the resolution of technical debt
  • Contributes to defining software architecture which include considerations of scalability
  • Apply fundamental UX and accessibility principles to make our products available to all customers.
  • Ensure applicable testing has been applied to all levels of the web platform
  • Consider error scenarios to ensure customers have the best experience always
  • Proactively staying up to date with latest engineering trends in your field
  • Actively shares knowledge within and outside the team

Normally based in our Leeds city centre tech hub, you’ll enjoy being part of a strong team culture, with the flexibility to work remotely around that. You will be part of a global team.

  • Our engineers work closely with colleagues in all positions, so communication and interpersonal skills are important for this role
