The role: Senior Technical Product Manager

We are looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager to join our Product Development team in Leeds!

Are you our next star player?

You’ll work on this critical, strategic platform, with funding and opportunities to match our huge ambition. It’s your chance to build new products that will ultimately be used by millions around the world, working with the best product and technology professionals, while learning new skills and developing yourself with a new challenge!

Why we need you

We are building a brand-new Sportsbook product that will take the best shared components from the Flutter Group, with a new bespoke UI presentation tier tailored to our customer needs. We are seeking somebody with a technical background ideally in the sports betting domain to own the strategy, roadmap and cross team coordination to evolution of the Sportsbook middleware/backend platform, working with our in-house agile development/ops/infra teams.

Who we’re looking for

In line with the overall product strategy, you’ll lead all aspects of product direction of the underlying Sportsbook platform working closely with technical peers, BAs and delivery squads. You’ll be the technical product owner for our underlying platforms, products and services, focussing on the real technical aspects of these.

You’ll be able to manage and prioritise the platform roadmap working with partners to ensure we improve the return on our technology investment, aligning your roadmap with other squads and tribes. You’ll act as the authority for a large, mature and sophisticated Sportsbook back-end platform; join the dots between squads to ensure a coordinated approach

We would expect you to represent the product vision, strategy and roadmap to senior partners across the group, ensuring the platform evolves jointly in a direction that works for all. You’ll also convert business and customer requirements (both functional and non-functional) into features, working with delivery squads to incept and break down into epics.

Your experience:

We need an individual with significant technical experience and the product behaviours/skills to own platform, be the decision maker and evolve according to a customer focussed product vision. Key skills and experience include:

Either:

  • Senior technical experience in engineering or architecture domains, with a desire and aptitude to move into the product space; OR
  • Senior product management experience in very technical domains

Your skills:

  • Sports betting domain knowledge would be very desirable
  • Confidence to both persuade and challenge internal and 2nd party teams
  • Ability to own the big picture, whilst knowing what and how to optimally delegate
  • Ability to simplify sophisticated problems, processes, system interactions or projects into component parts and be able to explore and evaluate them systematically
  • Lead and mentor technical BAs across multiple backend squads

Your behaviours:

  • Naturally collaborative, and with a desire to be part of a highly successful team rather than just a highly successful individual
  • Highly organised and self-motivated, with an ambition see a job through to conclusion
  • Superb interpersonal skills, comfortable operating at all levels of an organisation
  • Work proactively to resolve issues and mitigate risks

What’s in it for you?

Our experience-based salaries are competitive. Plus, there’s a discretionary annual performance bonus. And we provide advice and dedicated assistance to those moving to Leeds.

Your package will include:

  • the option to join our company pension scheme
  • £1,000 as a congratulations if you have a baby whilst you work for us
  • discounted gym membership
  • in-house training and development to develop your skills, progressing your career
  • free fresh fruit, snacks and drinks in the office
  • social events; including our sensational summer and Christmas parties.
