The role: We are looking for a Senior Front End Engineer to join our FOX Bet Sportsbook Product team in London.

You will have a direct reporting line to the Head of UX & UI, and work under the overall direction of the Director of UX & UI.

You will have a responsive web development background and a passion for crafting user-centred experiences. You will work closely with Product and UX/UI specialists to build delightful user-friendly solutions that take advantage of industry standards and best practices!

Why we need you

You will work closely with the Head of UX & UI, UX/UI specialists and product partners to understand opportunities/problems, help define UX and front-end development requirements, develop and deliver new features.

Collaborate with UX Designers to contribute to the design of the experiences we build, fine-tune interactions and UI behaviour.

You will develop accessible and flawless device-agnostic experiences for a sophisticated web application, with focus on semantics, web standards, flexibility, scalability and performance.

Define front-end critical metrics to measure success and identify improvement opportunities. Optimise front-end solutions by utilising responsive design, progressive improvement and mobile first approaches.

You will collaborate with front-end and back-end engineers to implement, test and optimise the designed experiences. Ensure that developed functionality is in-line with the designed experience and meets defined quality standards and timelines.

Who we’re looking for

  • 4+ years of front-end development experience, working with web technologies and implementing complex UI solutions
  • Proficiency in JavaScript (Backbone/React/AngularJS), HTML5, CSS3, CSS pre-processors (Sass); experience with Gulp is advantageous
  • Experience working with REST APIs
  • Experience working with websockets
  • Cross-browser and standards compliant code that meets accessibility, flexibility, scalability and performance requirements
  • Mobile First and Progressive Enhancement approach
  • Creative and analytical approach to problem solving; meticulous attention to detail as well as strategic grasp of the “big picture”
  • Ability to identify technology enablers/constraints to balance partner objectives with user needs
  • Adaptable, proactive, and willing to take ownership
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to optimally convey ideas and explain rationale behind concepts/ solutions/ recommendations
  • Relevant work experience and examples of responsive front-end development are required

As the Ideal candidate you will have

  • Previous experience in the gaming / sports betting industry
